POSITION SUMMARY:

Bob Jones University School of Fine Arts and Communication seeks an apparel design adjunct instructor with sewing, tailoring, and teaching experience. Successful candidates must have the ability to teach a variety of sewing courses from a biblical worldview in addition to performing service duties as needed within the department, division, or academic school.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach assigned undergraduate apparel design courses including class preparation, grading, and other teaching activities Maintain/Uphold course syllabi for each class Collaborate with other faculty for program improvement Participate in divisional/department meetings and activities including curriculum development as available Engage in professional practice and professional development activities Participate in continuous assessment of program-level and student learning outcomes Support activities related to the Division of Art + Design and the department Other job-related duties as agreed upon by department head or division chair and adjunct faculty member REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Evidence of ability to teach apparel design courses related to sewing Relevant professional experience in apparel design related to sewing and tailoring Demonstrated commitment to biblical worldview through teaching, curriculum development, and/or service Excellent written and oral communication skills transferrable to the classroom Interpersonal skills with students and/or peers transferrable to the classroom Demonstrate organizational abilities transferrable to teaching and classroom management Ability to work as part of a team Proficiency with sewing machines Effective teaching and assessment skills Experience teaching in higher education preferred Other Requirements:

Maintain regular, posted office hours to be available to students Committed to personal professional development Participate in appropriate professional organizations
