The Store Manager will manage and lead in a multiunit capacity. Provide and model best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to questions or concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply selling behaviors during every transaction and thank guests for shopping. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns using the Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system accurately, including handling cash and providing receipts. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer phone calls promptly and professionally. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-ins, and Pro Rewards. Recruit, interview, hire, assess, develop, and retain high-performing associates. Ensure associates complete onboarding and training, including policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Communicate regularly with store associates and District Manager to implement store initiatives; train staff in job responsibilities and guidelines; supervise and delegate tasks. Schedule store associates to meet guest service and operational needs; manage breaks and meals as required. Approve payroll and ensure timely payment of time off and overtime where applicable. Provide recognition and feedback to associates and document performance in the HR system. Maintain a neat, clean, organized store and ensure fixtures and equipment are in good working order. Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily. Perform store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize products on the floor. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct safety and security practices during shifts. Lead the store team to meet or exceed sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative duties as needed. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; manage closeout paperwork and banking procedures. Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate discrepancies to the District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and documentation. Maintain safety awareness for associates and guests; report injuries per policy. Maintain store records and up-to-date manuals; form professional partnerships as applicable (e.g., on military bases). Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures as outlined in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 1 year of retail management experience required. At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work independently and as a team lead; meet leadership expectations. Work in a fast-paced environment; manage time and prioritize tasks. Commit to attendance, safety, and a respectful workplace.
