Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities

General administrative and secretarial duties.

This position reports to the Assistant Vice President for International Studies with administrative and secretarial duties and responsibilities supporting the mission of IIS. Serve as a member of the IIS Leadership Team/LT with the duty of taking minutes for the bi-weekly LT meetings and assisting unit directors as needed. Daily mail processing for staff and students. Receive social security cards and distribute to students. Hire and supervise student workers in the IIS central office. Help with I-9s and tax forms for students workers in the IIS central office. Notify students who work on campus about the VITA program dates. Submit EPAFs for IIS student workers and graduate assistants. Submit PA's for IIS staff and drivers. Maintaining copies of PA's and IIS personnel files. Communicate with recruiting agencies and the university accounting office facilitating agent commission payment. Run monthly enrollment and application reports for the Assistant Vice President for International Studies. Manage office shipping with UPS and maintain supplies. Ordering office supplies with purchasing card. Maintain the copy machine and paying the bills. Conducting annual inventory. Arrange drivers for the Assistant Vice President for International Studies. Maintain fuel card and coordinate all needed Enterprise rentals. Communicate with the building coordinator or Facilities Management for building repairs and maintenance. Submitting work orders for building (IIS rooms only). Managing the Classroom Calendars for Blackburn (IIS rooms only). Coordinating with other units in Blackburn for room usage. Manage building key requests and distribution. Maintain IIS bulletin board. Collect media articles regarding international students and IIS/ESL. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education Requirements

Two years of college. Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements

Three years of Administrative experience required. Additional college education and related work experience may be exchanged year-for-year to meet qualifications. Must possess excellent typing, office procedure, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must be able to work with a variety of people. The ability to multi-task is critical. Keyboarding, filing, MS Office Suite Programs, office procedures; bookkeeping may be required. Ability to work on multiple tasks and fixed deadlines. Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications

Five years of on-campus administrative assistant experience. Knowledge and understanding of Banner and other Murray State University operations. Posting Date 09/09/2025
