Job Description - Security Guard (17765)

AAR Corp. is a global aerospace and defense aftermarket solutions company. This role involves monitoring the facility and controlling access for visitors, guests and employees to the building, and supporting security operations across assigned areas.

Responsibilities

  • Main Gate Guards: Approve access to visitors, guests and employees; sign in deliveries and notify patrol guard before access to Shipping/Receiving; monitor access to east parking lot and on-base parking area; request proper picture ID for visitors at the main gate; issue leasehold badges from the main gate; monitor the badge reader inside the gatehouse for employee access; check tools when a new employee brings in their tools.
  • Patrol Post Guards: Monitor all parking areas outside the facility; ensure vehicles are parked in designated areas; oversee Shipping/Receiving areas during gate opening/closing; be present at turnstiles during shift changes, breaks, and while employees are exiting/entering the facility; patrol the 2nd floor after hours to ensure all doors are locked.
  • AOA Guards: Control access and traffic in the hangar; patrol east/west sides of the building using a golf cart; challenge unauthorized persons or vehicles, requesting ID as needed; log deliveries and visitors entering/leaving the hangar; ensure all employees or visitors have an MIA badge or leasehold before crossing the red line located on the ground in front of each hangar door.

All Guards - Core Activities

  • Record work time as directed by supervision; comply with all applicable AAR Aircraft Services - Miami, Inc. policies and procedures and safety procedures; stay informed of policies and procedures and seek clarification when needed; take prudent actions to protect company and customer assets; attend scheduled training; perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in standard English; able to comprehend and follow instructions; professional and pleasant interaction with employees and customers as required.
  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; Minimum 1 year related experience and/or training; One year as a Security Guard preferred; Security "D" license required.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

Must be available to work flexible shifts and days off. Must be able to move about as needed. May be required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility. The environment is an office setting; candidates should adapt to a traditional business environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
