Description Summary
The Security Guard is responsible for monitoring the facility and approving access to visitors, guests and employees who need to enter the building.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Main Gate Guards
- Approve access to visitors, guests and employees who need to enter through the main gate.
- Sign in deliveries, then notify the patrol guard before allowing access into the Shipping/Receiving area.
- Monitor access to east parking lot and on-base parking area.
- Request proper picture IDs when a visitor arrives at the main gate.
- Issue leasehold badges from the main gate.
- Monitor the badge reader inside the gatehouse for employees to gain access into the facility.
- Check toolbox when a new employee brings in their tools.
- Patrol Post Guards
- patrol all parking areas outside the facility; ensure vehicles are parked in designated areas and not alongside the fence.
- Monitor Shipping/Receiving areas when gate is opening or closing.
- Be present at turnstiles during shift changes, breaks, and when employees are exiting/entering the facility.
- Patrol the 2nd floor after hours to ensure all doors are locked.
- Patrol the east AOA.
- AOA Guards
- Control access and traffic in the hangar.
- Patrol the east/west side of the building riding a golf cart.
- Challenge any persons or vehicles entering the hangar area and request to see ID.
- Log all deliveries and visitors entering/exiting the hangar area.
- Ensure that all employees or visitors have an MIA badge or leasehold before crossing the red line on the ground in front of each hangar door.
- General
- Record work time as directed by supervisor.
- Comply with all AAR Aircraft Services - Miami, Inc. policies and procedures applicable to the role.
- Comply with safety procedures; stay informed of policies and seek supervisor explanations when needed.
- Take prudent actions to preserve company and/or customer assets.
- Attend work-related training as scheduled.
- Perform other tasks as reasonably assigned by supervisor.
- All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Must have a minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training. One year as a Security Guard preferred. Must possess a Security "D" license.
