Overview
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher in curriculum planning and implementation; documentation of learning experiences with the classroom teacher and the Curriculum Director; work collaboratively with the Child Development Center for Learning & Research faculty, staff, students, and families to support amiable partnerships in a learning community. Provide administrative support to the Center as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Classroom experience in early childhood setting
- Ability to work collaboratively in curriculum planning and implementation
- Ability to assist in documentation of learning experiences
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in child development, early childhood education or related field or equivalent training or experience
- Administrative experience, preferably in an early childhood setting
- Supervised experience in working with young children in groups
- Teaching experience
- Experience working with social constructivist, inquiry based approaches to education and Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education
- Experience working in a NAEYC accredited and/or VSQI rated school
- Working knowledge of Virginia\'s Early Learning and Development Standards
