Overview

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher in curriculum planning and implementation; documentation of learning experiences with the classroom teacher and the Curriculum Director; work collaboratively with the Child Development Center for Learning & Research faculty, staff, students, and families to support amiable partnerships in a learning community. Provide administrative support to the Center as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Classroom experience in early childhood setting


• Ability to work collaboratively in curriculum planning and implementation


• Ability to assist in documentation of learning experiences


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in child development, early childhood education or related field or equivalent training or experience


• Administrative experience, preferably in an early childhood setting


• Supervised experience in working with young children in groups


• Teaching experience


• Experience working with social constructivist, inquiry based approaches to education and Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education


• Experience working in a NAEYC accredited and/or VSQI rated school


• Working knowledge of Virginia\'s Early Learning and Development Standards
