Maintenance Lead

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing and supervising plant maintenance of rendering process equipment; ensures that equipment and buildings are sanitary and in good repair with a direct report to the Plant Manager. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment. Changes electrical breakers and electrical starters; operates voltage, amp, and ohm meters. Follows preventative maintenance schedule on all plant equipment. Provides direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and daily activities and duties. Trains Level 1 and Level 2 Maintenance personnel. Responsible for ensuring all Company safety procedures and safe operating standards are followed by plant personnel, in accordance with OSHA. Responsible for cleanliness of equipment and regularly scheduled safety inspections. Manage daily inventory of supplies and parts, ensuring replacements are ordered in a timely fashion. Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee. All other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience in supervisory position / overseeing plant personnel in an industrial setting or in combination. Proficient in basic welding and fabrication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in maintenance with industrial equipment and/or combination of vocational training Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures. Prior rendering experience preferred. Advanced welding experience/skills preferred. Vocational school training preferred. Good communication skills both oral and written. Excellent problem-solving skills. Team player; works well with others. Detail oriented; well organized. Good math skills.
