AES is a cutting-edge manufacturing company specializing in high-precision molds and fixtures for aerospace composite parts. We combine engineering expertise, 3D printing, and machining to deliver mission-critical tooling to some of the most innovative names in aerospace. Position Overview: AES is seeking a detail-oriented CMM Technician eager to join our team in Akron, OH. This position plays a key role in inspecting and validating 3D printed and machined components using portable CCM arms (Faro, Romer). The ideal candidate will ensure that all parts meet our strict quality standards and AS9100 requirements. What you will do Perform dimensional inspections of 3D printed parts and machined molds using a portable CMM arm (Faro, Romer). Read technical drawings, interpret GD&T, and verify tolerances. Assess and interpret measurement data using PolyWorks (preferred) or similar metrology software. Collaborate closely with engineering and machining. Prepare and maintain inspection reports and records for internal use and customer documentation. Assist in maintaining compliance with AS9100 quality standards. Support calibration tracking and documentation of inspection tools.
Qualifications we require
Experience in manufacturing or a quality controlled environment. Excellent hand/eye coordination and dexterity. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Must possess good math and analysis skills. Excellent computer skills utilization of software programs. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be U.S. Persons (8 USC 1324b(a)(3)) or otherwise authorized by the U.S. Government. Ability to be moderately active for 8 or more hours a day, including standing, kneeling, bending, lifting up to 70 pounds, and climbing onto machine tables up to 20 inches high with reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications we prefer
Experience with portable CMM arms (Faro, Romer). Knowledge of GD&T and quality inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers). Familiarity with PolyWorks or similar software. Experience in the aerospace industry.
