Pool Lifeguard And Recreation Instructor
The City of South Lake Tahoe is seeking a Pool Lifeguard and Recreation Instructor for temporary part-time positions. The salary range is $16.50 - $25.87 hourly, depending on experience. The location is South Lake Tahoe, CA. The Pool Lifeguard position requires candidates to pass a basic swim test and in-water rescue drills, and obtain the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring activities at the pool, conducting rescues, enforcing water safety rules, and performing general pool maintenance. The Recreation Instructor (Aquatics) must conduct swim instruction for all ages and abilities, demonstrate an understanding of teaching and learning styles, and possess knowledge of basic swim strokes and water safety practices. Applicants must hold a current American Red Cross Certification for Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or be willing to obtain certification within six months of employment. The positions require sufficient physical ability and mobility, including sitting, walking, standing, and swimming for prolonged periods, lifting up to 200 pounds, and responding calmly in emergency situations.
