Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences . As a lifeguard, the primary responsibility is to provide and maintain a safe swim environment for program participants. Additional responsibilities extend to daily aspects of aquatic operations, including but not limited to assisting with daily operational needs of the swimming program, student scheduling, or locker room supervision and clean up. Work Schedule Monday through Wednesday: 6:15 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Essential Job Functions
Conducts swimming lessons for patrons Assists the Pool Manager in the operation of a swimming pool facility Coaches water sports Ensures adherence to water safety rules and practices, and responds to participants in danger by performing water rescues and administering first aid; and performs other related duties as assigned Must maintain valid Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or equivalent

Relationship Building - Establishing rapport and maintaining mutually productive relationships. Environmental Exposure Tolerance - Performing under physically demanding conditions. Must have the ability to swim 500 yards in 10 minutes, 30 seconds. Must be able to assist in removing a victim from the water using a backboard. Must be able to tread water for 2 minutes without use of arms.
