Quality Technician II

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Technician II to join our team. This role involves reviewing and maintaining manufacturing documentation, compiling First Article Inspection reports, coordinating gauge calibration, and ensuring compliance with ISO/AS standards. You will be responsible for performing various tests and inspections, preparing for audits, and assisting with corrective actions and root cause analysis. Responsibilities: Review and maintain completed manufacturing documentation for accuracy. Scan files and save them to correct folders. Compile First Article Inspection reports (FAI per AS9102) and Certificates of Compliance for shipments. Schedule and prepare for customer source inspections. Coordinate gauge calibration with outside service; complete gauge track calibration and provide gauge list to each department monthly. Perform gauge R&R studies. Ensure the plant maintains a system that meets all ISO/AS standards. Order new measuring equipment as required. Complete final inspection reports that meet customer requirements. Perform hardness, load loss, grinder burn tests, cleanliness tests, and other testing of products as required. Create inspection paperwork for production. Balloon prints and prepare FAIR forms. Assist in preparation for audits. Provide documents for shipping. Perform internal audits as required. Conduct process capability analysis including gauge R&R studies. Perform inspections for PPAP's, FAIR's, or other inspections as required. Provide assistance for corrective actions/root cause analysis and assist with the disposition of non-conforming products. Effectively communicate with customers. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills: Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and blueprint reading. Ability to troubleshoot and hang gauges. Experience in metal manufacturing. Knowledge of AS9100, PPAP's, and quality control/assurance. Experience with gauge R&R studies, FAIRs, and audits. Familiarity with ISO and AS standards. Strong communication skills (verbal, written, computer). Ability to read prints and develop inspection criteria. Experience with SPC, gauge calibration, and root cause analysis. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in quality or related education. Exposure to auditing effective quality procedures and processes. Experience measuring and inspecting products using optical comparators. Work Environment: This role is integral to a growing company involved in significant aerospace projects, including the Mars Rover Landing and upcoming lunar missions. Work hours are flexible, starting between 6am-7:30am and ending between 3:30-4:30pm. The company operates a 1st shift with some overlap with the 2nd shift to address bottlenecks, offering flexibility in scheduling. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
