Overhead Crane Operator Trainee

Position is part of a trainee program designed prepare the employee for a Material Handler position. Responsibilities: Employee is responsible for general movement, turning or other lifting activities as directed by supervision utilizing overhead cranes and forklift. Overhead Crane Operator Duties and Responsibilities: Operate a remote overhead crane Observe all workplace safety rules and regulations Move various parts or components to the appropriate areas Work and communicate with supervisors to ensure smooth operations Inspect equipment and fill out service requests as necessary Overhead Crane Operator Requirements and Qualifications: Prior experience with overhead crane equipment (preferred) Physical ability to stand, crouch, and lift objects throughout your shift Strong communication skills Forklift experience or a forklift operator license (preferred) Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required Basic discipline aptitude/attitude Physical Demands: Talking Frequently Hearing Frequently Sitting Frequently Standing Frequently Walking Frequently Bending Frequently Climbing Frequently Reaching Frequently Prolonged Overhead Work Frequently Pushing/Pulling Frequently Kneeling/Squatting Frequently Lifting Frequently up to 50 lbs Occasionally up to 100 lbs Carrying Frequently up to 50 lbs Occasionally up to 100 lbs Balancing N/A Rotation/Twisting Frequently Keyboard Use Frequently Using vibration tools/equipment Frequently Noise level Frequently > 100 dBA Travel Occasionally- Emergency basis * This job description is not all encompassing, however, is intended to be a general description of the responsibilities of this position.
