Job Summary CEI Early College Programs is seeking a knowledgeable and student-centered CTE Academic Advisor to join our team! This position will support Career and Technical Education (CTE) students, serve as the CEI Transition Coordinator and specialize in Idaho SkillStack. The advisor will connect students to CTE opportunities available during high school and will support successful transitions into postsecondary CTE programs through quality academic advising, networking, and connecting students with resources and purposeful experiences. Under the direction of the Early College leadership and in collaboration with College of Eastern Idaho CTE leaders and the Idaho CTE office (ICTE), the position will work as part of the CEI Early College advising team to provide students with accurate and timely planning tools and resources for CTE pathways leading to credential & certification attainment. The advisor will work directly with students in high school CTE programs and technical dual credit classes to promote CTE opportunities, microcredentials, and postsecondary pathways aligned with Idaho's high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand occupations. The position will also provide SkillStack support to CTE instructors throughout Eastern Idaho and will work closely with other CTE Transition Coordinators throughout the state. This position is a grant funded position and is based on funding availability.

Under the direction of the Early College Program leadership in coordination with CEI CTE leadership: Develop and maintain expertise in Idaho CTE programming, requirements, and pathways. Develop and maintain expertise in College of Eastern Idaho CTE programming, requirements, and pathways. In group or individual settings, provide information to students, parents, teachers, and counselors on CTE programs, including details about the transferability and applicability of dual credit toward postsecondary goals. Provide quality academic advisement to students in CTE programs and/or with CTE goals including course mapping and academic planning focused on intentional decision-making and experiential opportunities directly related to high demand careers. Advise students with career planning. Monitor student CTE credential progress and provide feedback and/or intervention as needed. Coordinate student planning with high school counselors, CTE teachers, or related representatives. Travel to area high schools to promote and facilitate student participation in CTE opportunities including, technical dual credit, the awarding of microcredentials, credit for prior learning, SkillStack, Workplace Readiness Diploma, industry-recognized credentials, apprenticeships, workforce training,or other options that directly benefit a students postsecondary goals and reduces the time and cost of obtaining a postsecondary credential. Support secondary career technical students as they transition to postsecondary CTE programs including assisting students with applications and processes for dual credit opportunities, college admissions, and connecting students with resources for FAFSA and CTE scholarship opportunities. Participate in and assist in the planning of events to promote CTE pathways including; career expos, open houses, program tours, field trips, CTE competitions, classroom information sessions, and various presentations. Promote the development, implementation, and adoption of programs or career pathways aligned with state-identified high-skill, high-wage, or in-demand occupations or industries. Obtain training and continuing education from ICTE regarding the use and promotion of SkillStack as a tool for CTE opportunities. Support the implementation of SkillStack through student registrations in system, teacher support, and Workplace Readiness Diploma requirements. Collaborate with Transition Coordinators statewide and ICTE leaders to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills related to statewide CTE initiatives, resources, and rules. Collaborate with college CTE divisions to develop and maintain a wide base of knowledge regarding the needs and expectations of local and regional industries and their connection to postsecondary programs. As assigned, assist CEI career & technical divisions with tracking documentation of course equivalency. Participate in groups/associations to promote CTE pathways including; TAC meetings, CTE professional organizations, and CTE training opportunities. Engage with CEI departments in the management of microcredentials. Attend local, regional, and national conferences as directed and/or approved. Develop, track, and report on common metrics for student and program success. Manage expenditures related to job duties and submit monthly reports to department heads. Assist with grant writing and reporting related to job duties as directed by Early College, CTE, or other CEI leadership. Weekly, same-day, in-region travel is required. Occasional overnight, in-state or national travel may be required as directed and/or approved. Performs other job-related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree from an accredited university (In lieu of a Bachelors Degree, a minimum six years combined education, training, and experience may be considered) At least one (1) year of experience engaging with high school or college students in educational, advisory, support, outreach, or mentorship roles, including but not limited to college admissions, academic advising, student recruitment, counseling, or other educational focused programs or services Strong project-management and task prioritization/organization skills Strong public speaking skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage with high school students, families, and school personnel Self-starter with strong problem-solving, research, and decision-making skills Strong information retention skills Experience working independently and collaboratively Student-centered, with a strong desire for helping people succeed Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office, Zoom, etc.) Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to school sites as needed Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI doesnt sponsor H-1B Visas) Additional Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in education, career counseling, student affairs, or a related field Experience in career and college advising, especially with Career and Technical Education (CTE) students Familiarity with Idaho's CTE programs, Perkins V regulations, SkillStack , or advanced opportunities Knowledge of student development theories and best practices. Experience with post-secondary pathways, dual credit programs, or credit for prior learning processes Grant writing experience Bilingual (Spanish)

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee will be required to drive occasional long distances and lift up to 30 lbs.

On-site work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours.

Background Investigations: Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position. Please refer to Policy 225: Background Checks
