Position Title: Material Handler Lead
Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt Location: Bolling JBA Commissary, Washington, DC 20032 Reports To: Project Manager Position Summary
The Material Handler Lead supervises staff and ensures the accurate receiving, sorting, and staging of goods within the warehouse. This position is responsible for maintaining order, safety, and compliance within the warehouse, and serves as a liaison between material handlers and management. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. 2+ years experience in warehousing, inventory, or commissary operations. Prior team lead or supervisory experience preferred. Ability to train and supervise warehouse personnel. Familiarity with OSHA standards and warehouse operational protocols. English fluency for documentation and reporting. Duties and Responsibilities
Assign tasks to material handlers and monitor productivity. Ensure timely and accurate verification of deliveries. Organize product storage by type and temperature zone. Lead shift safety briefings and enforce proper PPE use. Maintain daily logs and delivery discrepancy reports. Communicate with stocking and custodial leads to ensure seamless flow. Train new employees on warehouse procedures and safety rules. Coordinate warehouse cleaning and inventory rotation schedules.
