As a Food Services Coordinator, you will be primarily responsible for preparing residential meals, snacks, desserts, special events, training and meetings. This individual is also responsible for establishing and maintaining nutritional standards consistent with agency, state and federal standards.
This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a clean sanitary and safe kitchen in accordance to Health Department standards;
Ensure equipment is clean and maintained;
Assure quality food service is provided to all Bethany Residential programs and at staff events;
Maintain recipes and digital daily records for meal and snack production, temperatures, and sanitation consistent with the time requirements set forth by agency, state, and federal standards;
Ensure digital daily records are available for auditing, licensing, and accreditation reviews;
Promptly order or directly purchase needed supplies;
Receive and account for supplies from wholesaler;
Meet with supervisor regularly to discuss menu and catering events;
Attend required training and conferences and apply knowledge on the job;
Communicate with community resources as needed;
Provide requested and reasonable catering services to other programs on campus while maintaining priority to program resident needs;
Provide opportunities for residents to serve as an assistant in the kitchen as requested;
Serve as a role model and provide skill building to youth, as needed;
Be knowledgeable and mindful of religious and cultural concerns that relate to providing food services to refugee programs.
Stay knowledgeable and up to date on the residents dietary restrictions, allergies, and other meal preparation needs;
Complete other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent;
At least one (1) year of hands on experience, preferred;
Must possess or be willing to obtain both theServSafe Certificationand theServSafe Allergens Certification;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks;
Strong organizational skills and a team player;
Successfully pass a TB test annually and document preference to receive or decline Hepatitis immunization;
Computer skillssufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of MicrosoftOffice suite;
Must be 21 years old with a valid driverslicense with at least 3 years driving experience to operate a vehicle on behalfof Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain areliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
Documentation of immunity to vaccine preventable diseases orthe willingness to receive vaccination, or seek an exemption;
Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
