Employment Type: 1 - Full-time Temporary Pay Range: $27.64 - $41.46 Location: Castle Rock, CO Overtime Exempt: N Elected Office / Department: FACILITIES Perform various skilled work in the operation, maintenance, diagnostic, repair, adjustment, and alteration of HVAC systems. Generally, the hiring rate is $27.64 to $34.55 per hour. Qualifications, education and experience as it relates to the position will be taken into consideration when determining hiring salary. Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm As a temporary position, no benefits are available for this opening. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Diagnosis of HVAC equipment failures. Performs all HVAC equipment preventative maintenance. Performs repairs on HVAC equipment, including boilers, air handlers, DX systems, chillers, and numerous other types of HVAC and refrigeration systems. Installs HVAC and building automation systems and equipment. Installs ductwork, low voltage controls, gas piping, and ventilation systems. Responsible for rough-in and final trim of new systems. Performs building automation preventative maintenance. Responds to and investigates complaints of malfunctioning building comfort control equipment. Monitor building efficiencies to include indoor air quality and energy use. Respond to after-hours or emergency calls outside of regular scheduled or business hours. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by three (3) years of professional journey-level HVAC experience. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License upon hire, with compliant insurance. A review of motor vehicle records is required at the time of hire and periodically throughout employment. Must possess a Federal Universal Refrigeration License issued by the State of Colorado. This position requires the successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting through a national database. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Closing Date: 08/29/2025 5:59PM MST. In the event of an emergency/disaster in or near the County, all County employees are expected to make every effort to be available to assist the County Manager, Elected/Appointed Officials and Department Directors to ensure the continued operation of any and all necessary County functions. This may mean being available to perform additional duties and hours beyond what is normally required. In the event that an exempt employee does work more than 40 hours a week in support of County operations during an emergency, such employee may receive overtime or other appropriate wage compensation in accordance with existing County policies or at the discretion of the County.
