Your Role: Loss Prevention Associate The Loss Prevention Associate is responsible for proactively preventing shortages caused by internal theft, external theft, fraud, and paperwork errors. You will report to the Assistant Store Manager, Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct associate education and awareness meetings.
Detect and apprehend shoplifters; support employee investigations.
Identify and report deficiencies in Merchandise Protection Standards via the Loss Prevention Audit Program.
Participate in team Loss Prevention programs to reduce inventory shortages and profit loss.
Report violations of company policies to LP leadership.
Manage opening/closing of the store and arm/disarm the alarm system.
Prepare reports, secure evidence, and document all incidents; serve as a witness in legal proceedings.
Monitor CCTV to detect dishonesty and policy violations.
Investigate Worker's Compensation and Public Liability incidents.
Initiate investigations related to loss prevention, internal, external, and fraud-related.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience in loss prevention, security, or related fields, with knowledge of investigative techniques.
Ability to analyze complex data, identify patterns, and evaluate potential issues.
Strong communication skills for documenting investigations and collaborating with teams.
Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to asset protection.
Ability to manage multiple investigations independently and prioritize tasks.
Proficiency with loss prevention technologies such as CCTV and incident management tools.
