Material Handler

As a Material Handler, you will receive, identify, transport, store and deliver a wide variety of raw materials and parts for additional processing, assembly, machining, or direct shipments. You will also perform different roles such as labeling, packing, and loading items for shipments according to specifications. Essential functions include operating materials handling equipment, working from shop orders, assisting with receiving, identifying, issuing, and storing material/parts, filling and distributing material and repair orders, maintaining records of all items received and shipped, performing cycle count to maintain inventory accuracy, detecting defective materials, handling and disposing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste responsibly, recognizing spills/leaks, attending team meetings, communicating effectively, attending work regularly, maintaining equipment and work area in clean and orderly fashion, and working in accordance with established safety procedures. Education and experience required include forklift certification, high school diploma or GED equivalent, and 6+ months of experience working in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of Microsoft programs and data entry is also required. Competence includes customer focus, instilling trust, driving results, communicating effectively, and optimizing work processes. This position does not directly lead other team members. Work environment/physical demands include lifting 30 pounds, bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking for 8+ hours without assistance, bending, squatting, climbing, grasping, reaching, lifting or otherwise moving about frequently and for extended periods of time, lifting, moving or otherwise transferring up to 50 lbs. frequently, or more occasionally, and walking, standing or otherwise moving about continuously.
