SUMMARY: We are seeking a detail-oriented Banquet Houseperson to join our team. This position is responsible for the setup, breakdown, and maintenance of all banquet and event spaces, ensuring flawless execution of weddings, corporate events, and special occasions in our stunning oceanfront setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality excellence and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-end environment. By delivering impeccable service , the Banquet Houseperson will uphold La Bahia Hotel & Spas service standards (inspired by Forbes) while elevating our beachfront property. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITY: Set up banquet rooms according to detailed event specifications including tables, chairs, linens, audiovisual equipment, and dcor arrangements Arrange furniture configurations for various event types (wedding receptions, corporate meetings, galas, intimate dinners) Assist in positioning specialty lighting, drapery, and decorative elements Ensure all setup meets luxury property standards and client expectations Complete efficient breakdown of events while maintaining quiet operation for overnight guests Transport and position banquet equipment including tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, and bars Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently Maintain inventory of banquet supplies, linens, and decorative items Report damaged or missing equipment to management immediately Assist with receiving and organizing new inventory and rental items Maintain pristine condition of all banquet spaces including ballrooms, terraces, and pre-function areas Vacuum, dust, and detail clean all surfaces before and after events Ensure proper sanitation of food service areas and equipment Monitor and maintain appropriate temperature and lighting in event spaces Address any facility issues that could impact guest experience Assist banquet service staff during events as needed Maintain professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with guests Support special requests and last-minute changes with flexibility and positive attitude Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect guests and team members Follow all sanitation, safety, and service standard protocols. Maintain impeccable grooming standards, wearing the assigned uniform exactly as specified (proper fit, cleanliness, and presentation at all times. Wear the official hotel lapel pin prominently as part of the uniform requirement, unless embroidered onto uniform. Perform all other duties that may be assigned as needed by your manager. QUALIFICATIONS: (2) years of experience in hotel banquet operations or event setup, luxury hotel and/or resort preferred Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time Strong attention to detail with ability to follow complex setup diagrams and specifications Multilingual abilities highly preferred Capable of maintaining composure during peak hours Ability to work in various weather conditions for outdoor events Flexible to work in different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently and in a team environment This role offers a dynamic work environment where your contributions directly impact the guest experience.
