Sanitation Worker Peanut Processing Facility (Suffolk)
Schedule: Monday Thursday, 5:45 AM 6:30 PM Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour Overview
We are seeking a Sanitation Worker to join our production team at a peanut processing facility. Sanitation workers play a critical role in maintaining food safety and product quality by ensuring all equipment and work areas are clean, sanitized, and compliant with regulatory standards. Responsibilities
General Sanitation Perform daily cleaning of floors, walls, and work areas; conduct routine self-inspections. Sweep and collect waste or spilled peanuts; empty trash bins. Clean exterior areas, including trailer wagons used for transport. Complete sanitation logs, checklists, and related documentation. Equipment and Food Safety Disassemble, clean, and sanitize production equipment such as shelling machines and conveyor belts. Safely handle and apply approved cleaning agents and chemicals. Follow all SOPs, SSOPs, and GMPs to meet food safety and regulatory requirements. Conduct and document pre-operational checks to ensure equipment is clean before production starts. Qualifications
Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards (FDA/USDA preferred). Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. during long shifts in hot or humid conditions. Understanding of proper use and safety requirements for cleaning chemicals. Strong attention to detail to prevent contamination. Team-oriented with good communication skills.
