Crane Operator
Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State. The Crane Operator position involves operating bridge/jib cranes, planning critical lifts/part rolls, and training/overseeing other operators. A successful applicant will consider safety the number one priority and be team minded. The following are essential job functions as a Crane Operator: Works with engineering to generate roll plans, sometimes involving multiple cranes, cranes in combination with forklifts, and other special considerations for high value parts with disadvantageous center of gravity locations Exhibits a strong understanding of physics principles Understands the design intent and proper use conditions of a variety of common heavy industrial forms of rigging equipment, ie. magnets, plate clamps, chains, web slings, etc... Demonstrates a strong understanding of all safety protocols and regulations, as well as possesses a keen eye for detail and an ability to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during operations Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills Maintains a positive, collaborative attitude when planning critical lifts Maintains an approachable and friendly attitude Capable of teaching best practices to trainees Operates a tandem bridge crane and singular jib crane up to 25T capacity in a shop environment Inspects and maintains equipment to ensure proper function and safety Maintains communication with the crew Ensures compliance with all safety protocols and regulations Operates the cranes according to verbal, written, or signal instructions Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs Qualifications: Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3). This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program. Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED. Certification or licensure in crane operation (ie. NCCCO certified) preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience with complex crane maneuvers including participation in the generation of roll plans. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ANSI standards in crane operations. Strong background in common industrial rigging practices and techniques. Experience with common lifting equipment care and inspection practices. Additional Information: Wage range for this role is between $25 - $50 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
