As the Sous Chef of Union League restaurant, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring smooth service
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Assist in menu development and seasonal specials
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Step in during service to expedite and lead the line when needed
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of three years as a Sous Chef in a upscale casual dining establishment or two years as a Sous Chef at at fine dining restaurant.
- Culinary degree recommended.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations related to food handling.
- ServSafe certificate
- Proficient knife skills and ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Passion for culinary arts with creativity in food presentation.
- Must be able to work 5 days a week (late morning - evening)
- Must be able to work weekends
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
