Sami & Susu is a Michelin Bib Gourmand–awarded New York City restaurant inspired by Mediterranean traditions, with a focus on seasonal ingredients, thoughtful technique, and warm hospitality. We’re a team-driven kitchen that values creativity, consistency, and strong work ethic — and we’re looking for a talented Sous Chef to join us.

About the Role

As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with our Chef and management team to help lead day-to-day kitchen operations. You’ll play a key role in shaping dishes, maintaining high culinary standards, and supporting a positive, collaborative workplace.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support kitchen staff in daily prep and service.

  • Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards.

  • Assist in menu development and seasonal changes.

  • Uphold food safety and sanitation standards.

  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork, respect, and accountability.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a sous chef or senior line cook role at a restaurant of similar caliber.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Dedication to consistency, cleanliness, and efficiency.

  • Ability to thrive under pressure while fostering a positive work environment.

  • NYC DOH Food Handler License 
Compensation & Benefits
  • $70,000 salary in the first year.
