Grand Army Bar is a neighborhood cocktail bar in Boerum Hill; our menu focuses on seasonality and seafood.
We are looking to bring to life the BOH team and kitchen that we always wanted to work in; one in which our confidence and professionalism lets us enjoy our time together day in and day out. We don’t have room for arrogance or putting oneself first; collaboration and positive working interpersonal relationships are just as important to us as our food. Alongside creating the best possible guest experience that we can, we equally value our employees and their quality of life. The ideal candidate shares our enthusiasm for hospitality and uses their culinary passion to fuel their attitude and approach each day fresh. We are a small and strong kitchen and hope to find individuals to invest in for the future growth of the restaurant and the company.
Line Cook/Prep Cook
- 1-2 years minimum as a line cook (seafood experience preferred)
- Open-minded and flexible, enjoys collaboration
- Self-driven and curious. Being proactive is a must, as is the ability to maturely receive feedback and directions
- Oyster shucking experience
- Ambitious, long-term goals in the industry
- Integrity. Just do the right thing.
- Strong work ethic, strong sense of urgency, and responsibility; ability to maintain excellence in a fast-paced environment
- High standards of cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail
- Professional with colleagues and strong communication skills
- DOH Food Handlers certified or ability to be trained on / follow DOH standards
