Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to oversee all engineering, maintenance, and facility operations for our premier luxury property. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest standards of property maintenance, energy efficiency, and guest satisfaction while managing complex building systems in a coastal environment. Key Responsibilities

Facility Management & Operations Oversee daily operations and maintenance of all hotel and spa facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, meeting spaces, and spa treatment rooms Manage HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and building automation systems Ensure optimal functionality of specialized spa equipment including hydrotherapy systems, steam rooms, saunas, and treatment room infrastructure Coordinate preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life Manage energy conservation initiatives and sustainability programs Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and contractors Create work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor performance to ensure efficient operations Conduct regular training on safety procedures, equipment operation, and customer service standards Foster a collaborative environment that supports both hotel and spa operations Project Management Plan and execute capital improvement projects, renovations, and equipment upgrades Coordinate with architects, contractors, and vendors for major projects Manage project budgets, timelines, and quality standards Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations including health department, fire safety, and OSHA requirements Maintain detailed records of inspections, certifications, and maintenance activities Implement and monitor safety protocols for both staff and guests Coordinate emergency response procedures and equipment Budget & Cost Management Develop and manage annual engineering and maintenance budgets Control costs through efficient resource allocation and vendor negotiations Track and analyze utility usage and implement cost-saving measures Approve purchase orders and manage inventory of supplies and spare parts Guest Experience Respond promptly to guest concerns and maintenance requests Ensure minimal disruption to guest experience during maintenance activities Maintain aesthetic standards throughout the property Collaborate with other departments to support seamless guest services Qualifications: Previous experience as a Hotel Chief Engineer required Experience in hotel openings, pre-opening inspections, and system commissioning preferred 3-5 years of experience in hotel, institutional, or HVAC systems HVAC certification and refrigeration experience required Strong working knowledge of

electrical, mechanical, life safety, and preventative maintenance systems Budget management, cost control, and financial responsibility experience (stationary engineering license preferred) Valid driver’s license required Ability to communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and leadership This role presents an exciting opportunity to be part of the
