Are you passionate about patient care and looking to grow in a dynamic, supportive healthcare environment? As a Nurse Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and well-being. Working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will assist with essential patient care tasks and actively contribute to a positive patient experience. Our 48-bed Medical Surgical Unit cares for patients through many different phases of their healthcare journey. You'll work alongside a skilled and compassionate team supporting patients with a wide range of needs

from post-surgical recovery to treatment for acute infectious diseases requiring IV antibiotics, to management of chronic conditions during flare-ups. We also provide dignified, compassionate care for patients and families during end-of-life support. Your day-to-day impact includes: Performing routine tasks such as measuring and recording vital signs, collecting and labeling specimens including blood draws, and performing venipuncture and chemsticks. Assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges as directed by the RN. Providing compassionate, hands-on personal care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, mobility, and comfort. Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to support seamless care delivery. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized patient environment. To qualify, you'll need a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following: Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles may vary: Patient Care Technician (PCT), Patient Assistant Technician (PAT)). Enrollment in a nursing program with completed Fundamentals of Nursing. Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan RN license. Medical Assistant program (with or without experience). At least one (1) year of experience in a Nurse Assistant, Patient Care Tech, or Patient Assistant Tech, or similar job role. Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) preferred Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation. Physical ability to lift and move patients, supplies, and equipment. Prolonged standing, walking, and lifting of patients, supplies, and equipment. Works in patient care area environments, which may include exposure to communicable diseases, unpleasant odors, acute patient conditions, potential exposure to infection, and hazardous gases.
