Pre-Certification/Prior Authorization Team Lead - Patient Service Center Full-Time
Oversees the team responsible for obtaining pre-certifications and prior authorizations for medical procedures and services from insurance companies. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of authorization requests, maintains compliance with payer policies, and provides leadership and support to the team. The Prior Authorization Team Lead is a critical role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the pre-certification and prior authorization process in a hospital setting.
Education: - High School Diploma or equivalent - 3 years minimum experience in medical registration or patient access
Skills: - Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills - Proficiency in computer systems and electronic health records - Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities - Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Functions of Position (not an exhaustive list): - Lead a team of authorization specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance management - Oversee daily operations of the pre-certification and prior authorization process, ensuring efficient and effective workflow - Resolve complex or escalated authorization issues, collaborating with payers, providers, and other relevant parties
