Bartender - Event Staff

The Downtown Market is seeking enthusiastic and professional Bartenders to join our event staff team! As a bartender, you will play a vital role in creating memorable experiences for guests by serving beverages with efficiency, professionalism, and great hospitality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Deliver exceptional bar service that enhances the guest experience. Ensure responsible and safe alcohol service at all times. Set up, stock, and prepare the bar for service before events. Check identification to ensure guests meet legal drinking age requirements. Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages responsibly. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area and follow all safety and sanitation standards. Monitor guest consumption and ensure responsible alcohol service. Collaborate with other event staff to ensure smooth event operations. Break down and clean up bar stations after events. Report accurate beverage consumption and inventory after every event. Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older. Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Current TIPS Michigan On-Premise Alcohol Server Certificate, or ability to pass the online certification course (Online TIPS training will be made available and must be completed prior to working as a bartender at the Downtown Market) Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Work Experience: Have at least 1-2 years of bartending or hospitality experience. Knowledge of beer, wine, and cocktail preparation. Previous cash handling/POS experience. Bartending or mixology certification (preferred but not required). Mental Capacity (Skills & Experience)

High energy with physical stamina to work at a fast pace for extended periods. Able to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Emotional Capacity

Have a passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences. Able to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner at every event. Proactive, adaptable, and able to anticipate guest needs. Able to maintain professionalism and discretion at all times. Time Capacity

Availability during evenings/on weekends. Able and willing to work 4-5 events per month. Work Environment

Bartenders may work both inside and outside areas of the market; inside areas may be in greenhouse areas The noise level varies and may be loud at times Bar areas may be crowded with guests and/or staff Bartenders use standard sanitation and general cleaning products Core Values
