Banquet Houseperson . The person hired for this position will need flexibility to work AM or PM shifts, depending on scheduled events. Weekday and weekend availability is required.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
:
Performing all aspects of a banquet or event, including servicing, set-up and breakdown while focusing on detail and quality presentation and first class customer service. The Banquet Houseperson is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of meeting and event spaces, including banquet rooms, banquet hallways, and storage and service areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES Approaches all encounters with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner Sets up and breaks down every event depending on clients' needs. This includes tables, chairs, dance floor, equipment, and more. Sets up/breaks down and refreshes food and beverage for meetings Maintains constant communication with guests, on-site contact, and sales department to ensure all expectations and guests' requests are met or exceeded Reviews Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with strong attention to detail. Maintains constant contact with catering staff to ensure complete effective communication between both teams Ensures proper setting of buffet tables and other food service tables Participates in clearing and post function cleanup and garbage removal Maintains clean and orderly meeting spaces, back areas, pre-function areas and storage areas at all times Supervises the handling, storage, and security of all catering service and Audio Visual equipment Ensures all operating procedures are followed Responsible for accurate consumption sheets and inventory for every banquet or event Exhibit a positive, enthusiastic attitude committed to a teamwork effort REQUIREMENTS
1 year experience in Events or Hospitality related experience required Highly responsible & reliable Basic Math skills for counting and recording inventories Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment Ability to work long hours and a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employees in this position work indoors and outdoors. This position often requires long periods of standing and walking as well as frequent reaching and kneeling, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting and moving objects 50 lbs or more. The Banquet Attendant must be able to quickly maneuver to any location in the hotel. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
