Sr. Manager, Search and Recruiting - SDL Search Partners

SDL is partnering with a well renowned construction firm int he Attleboro, MA area looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting key accounting functions, with a focus on construction-specific financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, hands-on construction industry experience, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and properly classified
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and financial reports
• Record and monitor daily financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, job cost allocations, and payroll entries
• Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy of cash activity
• Support year-end audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries
• Prepare and file sales/use tax returns, and assist with other tax compliance requirements as needed
• Assist in tracking project budgets, job costs, and billing activities to ensure accurate project financial reporting
• Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure proper coding and reporting of project expenses

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in construction accounting
• Solid understanding of GAAP and construction industry financial practices
• Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, QuickBooks Contractor, etc.) is a plus
