The hiring company is a large Commercial Bank with offices in Midtown, Manhattan. This is a hybrid role.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities - Conduct independent, risk-based reviews of commercial credit exposures across Large Corporate, Mid Corporate, C&I, and Leveraged Lending portfolios. - Assess credit quality, underwriting standards, risk rating accuracy, and adherence to credit policy and regulatory guidelines. - Analyze borrower financials, cash flow, capital structure, collateral, and repayment capacity. - Evaluate transaction structure, covenant compliance, and ongoing portfolio monitoring practices. - Prepare detailed written reports summarizing findings, identifying emerging risks, and recommending corrective actions. - Present review results to senior management, credit committees, and internal audit as needed. - Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, and Portfolio Managers to validate risk assessments and promote sound credit practices. - Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and macroeconomic factors impacting portfolio risk. - Support continuous improvement of the credit review framework, including methodology, sampling, and reporting tools. - Participate in special projects, stress testing exercises, and regulatory examinations as required.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred. 3+ years of experience in commercial credit underwriting, credit risk review, or portfolio management within a large commercial bank. Deep understanding of credit risk principles, regulatory expectations (e.g., OCC, FRB), and commercial lending practices. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial statements and credit structures. Familiarity with leveraged lending guidelines and risk-based capital frameworks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to senior stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and credit analysis platforms (e.g., Moody's, S&P, nCino, or similar). Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What's on Offer

$130,000 - $175,000 base salary.
