PRIMARY FUNCTION: Supervise and manage the clerical functions of the human resources department. Prepare correspondence for the Director of Human Resources. Respond to personal inquiries from certified and classified employees. Assist in maintaining data for system re-staffing.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Supervise and manage the clerical functions of the human resources department. Prepare correspondence for the Director of Human Resources. Respond to personal inquiries from certified and classified employees. Assist in maintaining data for system re-staffing.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the documentation of the fingerprinting process for certified employees to verify the extension of temporary contracts.
- Supervise the communication with the Sheriff's Office, GBI, and FBI to expedite the process.
- Supervise documentation of pre-employment background checks for classified/substitute employees.
- Assist the Director in conducting a conference with applicants if an adverse report is received.
- Process and maintain maternity/sick leave requests.
- Counsel employees regarding FMLA/PPL
- Supervise the tracking and reporting to payroll when substitute(s) qualify for long-term pay.
- Supervise the process and maintenance of certified/classified transfer requests.
- Supervise the process and maintenance of separation notices for certified/classified employees, and distribute separation forms to schools and central office facilities.
- Provide documentation for the Department of Labor to Equifax as needed for unemployment claims.
- Coordinate the scheduling of personnel employment actions for the current school year.
- Manage the collection and documentation of all reports and data related to certified employee evaluations.
- Assist in compiling information for the certified/classified personnel information report (CPI).
- Maintain personnel action for inclusion on the monthly report to the Board of Education.
- Obtain, gather, and organize pertinent data as needed for reports, censuses, and surveys as required by the Director of Human Resources (EEOC Report, School & Staffing Survey, Annual Survey of Government Employment, DOL Occupational Report, State Educational Survey, and Teacher Critical Fields).
- Supervise the reporting of tax forms to the Georgia New Hire Reporting Center for all newly hired certified and classified employees. Input new hires into the E-Verify system.
- Manage new employee orientation.
- Supervise the distribution of personnel action forms to the finance office and related departments.
- Assist in the organization of the new certified employee orientation at the beginning of the school year.
- Compile and revise the orientation packet for new employees.
- Assist in coordinating the New Teacher Breakfast and the Retiree Banquet.
- Manage the input of new certified and classified employees in the computer system and the personnel tree..
- Support the information needed for printing the system directory.
- Develop personnel forms as needed.
- Develop reports as needed.
- Attend to any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Possess sound interpersonal skills to meet and deal with the general public in a professional manner.
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct the day-to-day operations of the human resources department.
- Ability to maintain confidential records.
- Advanced clerical and computer skills, including knowledge of Google and SmartFusion.
- Proficiency in oral and written communications.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, OR TRAINING:
- Minimum high school diploma; two (2) years of college or human resources management certification preferred.
