About The Position
Wellhart is seeking a Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Colorado. This 28-day assignment begins on 12/23/2025, with a potential for extension. The ideal candidate will provide 24-hour on-call coverage, with varying day shifts from 7 AM to 7 AM. The physician should be comfortable with a range of gastroenterological procedures, including scoping, ERCP, EUS (highly preferred), endoscopy, managing GI bleeds, and evaluating various GI problems. This opportunity offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment, providing specialized care to patients with gastrointestinal issues. The successful candidate will be proficient with Epic electronic health record system and licensed to practice in Colorado.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide on-call gastroenterology services, including consultations and procedures
• Perform various endoscopic procedures, including scoping and ERCP
• Conduct EUS procedures (highly preferred)
• Manage and treat GI bleeds and other acute gastrointestinal issues
• Evaluate and diagnose a wide range of GI problems
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Utilize Epic EHR system for accurate and timely documentation
• Adhere to hospital protocols and maintain high standards of patient care
• Participate in any required training or orientation sessions
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and willingness to work various shifts as needed
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Colorado
• Board certification in Gastroenterology required
• Experience with advanced endoscopic procedures, especially EUS, is highly desirable
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting
