About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 48-day locum tenens assignment in Maryland starting Nov 1, 2025. This role offers a schedule of four 10-hour day shifts per week, Monday through Friday, with varying days. The ideal candidate will be proficient in vein harvesting using the Vasoview hemopro system and comfortable with key perioperative duties. This locum opportunity involves hands-on responsibilities in the operating room and post-operative care as part of a dedicated surgical team.

- Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week, days vary Monday through Friday; arrive at 6:30am, see OR patients and complete interval H&P notes
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
- Perform vein harvesting using the Vasoview hemopro system
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients
- Manage central line and arterial line placement
- Care for chest tubes and wound care vacuum systems
- Complete interval history and physical notes for OR patients
- Support post-op patient management as required
Additional Information
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- Board certification status required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR system
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- DEA and CSR licenses required (or willingness to obtain)
- Must have CV OR experience
