Director of Engineering
to lead all aspects of property operations, preventative maintenance, and capital project management for our client, a prestigious luxury resort. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on engineering leader who can balance operational excellence with long-term asset preservation and innovation. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy : Direct the Engineering team, oversee budget planning, capital projects, and vendor management while ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. Operations & Maintenance : Manage building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, and grounds) with a focus on preventative maintenance, sustainability, and guest satisfaction. Quality & Compliance : Maintain standards across materials, finishes, fixtures, and equipment while ensuring compliance with codes, policies, and environmental regulations. Financial Management : Develop and oversee departmental operating budgets, capital expenditure plans, and cost-control measures to maximize ROI. Project Management : Lead renovations, upgrades, and large-scale projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution. Emergency Preparedness : Partner with Safety & Security teams on crisis planning, drills, and execution of emergency protocols. Sustainability : Advance environmental stewardship programs, energy conservation initiatives, and LEED-related practices. Qualifications
Minimum
5 years of leadership experience
in Engineering/Facilities within a
luxury hotel
or
resort . Proven track record in
capital project management , preventative maintenance programs, and contract/vendor negotiations. Strong working knowledge of
HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems . Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction/Property Management, or related field (equivalent experience considered). Strong
business acumen, communication, and leadership skills . Proficiency in
CMMS, BAS, and MS Office Suite . Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs frequently. Occasionally push/pull up to 250 lbs with equipment. Must be able to multitask in a dynamic operational environment.
