Job description Diamond Chemical Company, a manufacturer of institutional and industrial soaps and detergents, located in Northern NJ, seeks a highly motivated and dynamic Sr. Purchasing Manager. Candidate must be a strong, proactive, hands-on, team player with experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee the procurement function, including, but not limited to, raw materials, equipment, packaging, and supplies. Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to reduce costs, ensure quality, and minimize supply chain risks. Negotiate long-term contracts, pricing agreements, and supplier performance metrics. Build, maintain, and manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring reliability and compliance. Establish procurement KPIs and regularly report performance against cost, quality, and delivery targets. Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and R&D to support production schedules, product development, and cost-reduction initiatives. Supervise and mentor the purchasing team, providing guidance and fostering continuous improvement. Review and approve requisitions, purchase orders, and procurement schedules in line with company policies. Manage bulk shipment schedules and vendor/product data to ensure accurate, up-to-date cost tracking. Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice/pricing discrepancies. Participate in daily operations meetings and contribute to cross-functional planning.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). Minimum 7–10 years of purchasing/procurement experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or leadership role within manufacturing. Proven success in supplier negotiations, cost savings, and procurement strategy. Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, ERP systems, and compliance standards. Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday Must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate to East Rutherford, NJ before starting work.
