Technical Project Manager – Studio Technology / Post-Production Infrastructure (Onsite in Burbank)

Optomi, in partnership with a global leader in entertainment, is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join a high-impact Studio Technology team supporting physical infrastructure, post-production environments, and large-scale technology deployments. This is an exciting opportunity to drive real-time execution of hardware rollouts, studio upgrades, and AV/IT installations that directly support production teams on the ground.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with engineering, AV, post-production, and operations teams to ensure technical continuity, scheduling, and resource alignment across multiple initiatives—while managing both the people and the moving pieces that make post-production and studio tech run smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead and execute 4–6 concurrent hardware-focused projects, such as:
  • Audio/video equipment installs
  • Post-production room buildouts
  • Infrastructure refreshes and physical deployments
  • Act as the boots-on-the-ground project manager—working alongside engineers, field techs, and facilities to track milestones, unblock issues, and meet aggressive studio timelines
  • Manage project lifecycles: from intake to execution, delivery, and documentation
  • Create and maintain Smartsheet project trackers, Visio network diagrams, and PowerPoint status updates
  • Coordinate site schedules, track inventory, and manage vendor/contractor tasking
  • Prioritize and escalate urgent IT support or production-impacting incidents
  • Support daily operations of a studio or post-production environment including: Tracking builds, upgrades, or repairs & Facilitating installs in high-demand, time-sensitive windows
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, studio operators, and IT service teams

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 3–7 years of experience managing technical, hardware-based IT or infrastructure projects in an enterprise or studio environment
  • Hands-on experience coordinating AV/IT deployments, studio room tech installs, or post-production environment builds
  • Strong grasp of project management tools like Smartsheet, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Experience supporting physical production or post-production teams
  • Ability to track parts, techs, timelines, blockers, and documentation—all at once
  • Excellent communication, organization, and vendor coordination skills

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with Avid, AV over IP, sound engineering, or union shop dynamics
  • Experience supporting hardware lifecycle (procurement, deployment, decommissioning)
  • Previous work within a studio or live production tech team
  • PMP or Scrum certification
  • Experience interfacing with post-production engineers, union teams, or technical facilities operations
