Southern Fabrication Works (SFW) is a Stainless-Steel Food Processing Manufacturer based in Burley, ID. The company's Engineering team designs custom Food Processing Solutions, which are then fabricated and installed by the Field Service Team for large Global Food Processing customers. SFW specializes in all aspects of food processing solutions. Southern Fabrication's Works vision is to provide custom built solutions from custom engineered designs, all under one roof.
Role Description
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning , allocating resources, preparing budgets, monitoring progress, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle. They will lead the team, set deadlines, solve issues that arise, manage budgets, ensure stakeholder satisfaction, and evaluate project performance, including the performance. All of this must be done in accordance with the goals and overall vision of Southern Fabrication Works.
Essential Functions:

- Take ownership of and oversee the development of a project from start to finish in collaboration with the Project Engineer
- Assist in the leadership and development of the project team -including the establishment of best practices, policies, methods, quality assurance, and other tools.
- Report on activities related to the project such as monitoring of subcontractors.
- Establishes key project criteria metrics and provides oversight on multiple projects at once.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage priorities, demands, and timelines.
- Be the primary point of contact on projects about clients, engineering, finance, and production team.
- Responsible for the development and advancement of project scopes and objectives.
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources effectively and efficiently.
- Prepare a budget based on the scope of work and resource requirements.
- Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize the progress of the project in collaboration with Project Engineer.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, and within the scope and budget.
- Responsible for approving material/equipment order lists in collaboration with Project Engineer.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs.
- Track project costs to meet the budget.
- Provide project updates consistently to various stakeholders regarding strategy, adjustments, and progress.
- Responsible for logistics, equipment needs, installation, and start-up in collaboration with field foremen and service team.
- Manage the relationship with the client and relevant stakeholders.
- Establish & manage relationships with contractors and suppliers – including managing bids, assigning tasks, and communicating expected deliverables.
- Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.
- Monitor progress and adjust as needed.
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare reports for upper management regarding the status of the project.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Team building leadership & personnel management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- 5+ years of Project Management experience, Construction Management, or related field
- Good communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Excellent leadership, organization, and time management skills
- MS Office suite skills, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, OneNote, and SharePoint
- Ability to assess problems and propose creative solutions
- An organized, detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive person who is looking for a role where they can learn from SFW’s leadership team.
- Three years in a supervisory role
Preferred Qualifications
- College Degree in construction management or a related Field
- 7 years’ Experience in Project Management
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Advanced MS Office suite skills, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, OneNote, and SharePoint
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
