Front Desk Receptionist needed in Portage, MI!
We are looking for a Front Desk Receptionist to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality customer service to our patients. The Front Desk Receptionist communicates with patients regarding their insurance and treatment plans, and with insurance companies regarding benefits, claims and pre-authorizations. You will also be responsible for checking patients in/out for appointments, scheduling and answering phones.
Schedule: Full-time, Mondays through Thursdays
- Mondays and Wednesdays: 7:00 AM to 4:50 PM (closed 12:00–1:00 PM for lunch)
- Tuesdays and Thursdays: 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Essential Duties:
- Deliver excellent patient care and support a strong team environment

- Problem-solve independently and collaborate effectively
- Show empathy and build trust with patients and teammates
- Check patients in and out for appointments
- Register new patients, correctly inputting demographic and insurance information
- Determine insurance eligibility, limitations and payment estimates necessary for accurate treatment plans
- Send claims to insurance companies with needed documentation
- Prepare needed paperwork for visits
- Schedule appointments
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient texts and emails
- Process patient payments
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Maintain professionalism in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of HIPAA standards and safety procedures
- Proficient with dental software (Eaglesoft preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Strong organization skills, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to accept feedback and follow instructions
Licenses and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Minimum of one-year relevant dental experience
