Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Real Estate & Property Management

We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide overall operational leadership across our property management and real estate investment companies. The COO will focus on efficiency, disciplined financial management, and the execution of SOPs in alignment with strategic objectives. This role requires proven operational expertise, strong financial management skillset, and the ability to drive growth in maintenance, construction services, and other ancillary business lines. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset and the leadership skills to guide a rapidly expanding organization that has achieved 100% growth over the past two years. Operational Leadership Oversee day-to-day operations of both the property management and real estate businesses Develop, implement, and enforce SOPs across all functions Ensure efficiency by streamlining workflows and optimizing systems (AppFolio, HubSpot, Podio, reporting) Establish accountability through KPIs and regular performance reviews Executive Oversight Provide direct leadership to department heads and key managers Hold leaders accountable to KPIs, policies, and SOPs Ensure alignment and communication across all divisions (property management, maintenance, acquisitions, accounting) Engage directly in field operations with project and maintenance managers Strategic Growth Identify and expand revenue streams in maintenance, construction, and ancillary services to strengthen margins Partner with ownership to execute growth initiatives that support scalability and profitability Evaluate opportunities for acquiring other property management companies Financial Leadership Manage budgets, P&L, and ensure disciplined bottom-line management for both companies Review individual real estate deals with the acquisitions team to ensure alignment with company goals Operate daily with a profitability-first mindset Make decisions through the lens of financial impact Ensure every action contributes to the company’s bottom line HR & People Leadership Direct HR strategy, policies, and compliance across both organizations Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and training systems to support rapid growth Foster a culture of accountability, professional development, and employee retention Job Requirements 5 years senior leadership, ideally in Property Management, Real Estate Investing or Banking Demonstrated expertise in financial and operational analysis Adaptable, forward-thinking, and tech-savvy Comfortable working in both high-level strategy and hands-on field operations Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field required MBA or advanced degree preferred (not required if experience is strong)
