Job Title: Industrial Cleaning/Janitorial Supervisor
Location: Eddyville, IA
Salary: $64,800 annual salary
Hours: M-F Dayshift 6:30a-4pm - occasional need for call in or weekend

Position Summary
The Cleaning Supervisor oversees industrial cleaning and janitorial operations to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment across the facility. This role manages a team of industrial cleaners, coordinates shift schedules, inspects work quality, and ensures safety, sanitation, janitorial, and regulatory standards. The supervisor serves as a liaison between frontline staff and management, fostering teamwork and operational excellence. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the cleaning supervisor performs hands-on tasks including deep cleaning, equipment sanitation, janitorial cleaning, and support production uptime.
Job Duties
Team Leadership & Scheduling
- Supervise and support cleaning staff in daily operations
- Assign tasks and manage shift schedules to meet facility cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Train new employees on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use
- Verify proper PPE usage during sanitation tasks and enforce hygiene protocols in sensitive areas
Quality Control & Compliance
- Conduct regular inspections of work areas, equipment, and common spaces to ensure cleaning quality and regulatory compliance
- Maintain documentation of inspections, incidents, and staff performance
- Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, chemical usage, and cleaning validations
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Chemical & Equipment Oversight
- Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and adherence to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) guidelines
- Ensure correct dilution, labeling, and storage of industrial cleaning agents and disinfectants
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as needed
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to management
Operational Support & Incident Response
- Respond promptly to escalated cleaning needs, spills, or hazards
- Support pest control efforts by maintaining clean and sealed environments
- Train staff on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene protocols, and contamination prevention
- Participate in sanitation audits and inspections as needed
Qualifications
- 1+ year of supervisory experience in janitorial or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment
- Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding and dynamic environment
