*About the Role*
You’ll implement Instrumentation & Control (I&C) projects—design, build, install, start-up, and service—for municipal and industrial water/wastewater facilities. Work spans SCADA/HMI configuration, PLC programming, instrumentation commissioning, and high-level systems troubleshooting.
*What You’ll Do*
· Interpret specs, P&IDs, and electrical drawings; align scope with PM and customer requirements.
· Configure HMI/SCADA (servers, workstations, networks), including alarms, historicals, and reports.
· Develop/modify PLC logic (ladder/structured text/function blocks); perform I/O checkout and loop tuning.
· Lead FAT/SAT, document punch lists, and drive resolution to closeout.
· Commission control panels: field signal wiring, terminations, device calibration, and network validation.
· Perform advanced systems troubleshooting (PLC/HMI/instrumentation/network) and root cause analysis.
· Train operators/supervisors on system operation, safety, and basic maintenance.
· Create/maintain accurate project docs: control narratives, as-builts, markups, trip reports, timesheets.
· Adhere to development standards, quality, and safety best practices; protect schedules and budgets.
· Participate in on-call rotation; support start-ups and warranty responses as needed.
*Minimum Qualifications*
· Technical degree (EE, ME, Controls, Industrial Tech) or 3+ years field service in I&C/SCADA.
· Hands-on with PLC/HMI/SCADA (e.g., Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens; AVEVA/Wonderware, FactoryTalk, Ignition, VTScada).
· Working knowledge of industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, VLANs, managed switches, firewalls).
· Read/interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics; perform instrument calibration.
· Strong documentation, communication, and customer-facing skills; team-oriented mindset.
· Valid driver’s license; ability to lift equipment and work in plant/construction environments.
*Preferred*
· Water/wastewater experience (process controls, lift stations, treatment plants).
· SQL/Historians/Reporting; radio/telemetry (cellular, licensed/unlicensed).
· Safety certs (OSHA 10/30, Confined Space, LOTO) and ISA/IEC familiarity.
*Work Conditions & Travel*
· Mix of office, panel shop, and customer jobsites (indoor/outdoor); ladders, kneeling, and panel work common.
· Travel: frequent day travel with periodic overnights depending on project schedule.
· Schedule: standard days with occasional after-hours/on-call for start-ups and cutovers.
