The Benefits and People Services Specialist Fulltime Opportunity Woodland, CA -Onsite The Benefits and People Services Specialist is responsible for administering all aspects of SAI’s colleague benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, COBRA, Flexible Spending Accounts, life, disability, and voluntary benefits across the U.S. This role serves as the primary point of contact for benefit-related inquiries, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution. The Specialist also manages vendor relationships, maintains system and billing integrity, supports compliance, and leads benefit communications and education efforts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Benefits Administration Serve as the first point of contact for benefit eligibility, enrollment, and related inquiries. Manage vendor relationships, including file feed maintenance, troubleshooting, compliance research, and implementation of new vendors. Oversee annual open enrollment: carrier selection, HRIS updates, employee education, and system testing. Administer benefits billing and reconciliation; cross-train HR Administrator to ensure continuity. Partner with payroll to ensure accurate deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and other pay adjustments. Maintain benefits portals (ADP Workforce Now, SharePoint), ensuring data integrity and timely updates. Conduct periodic audits of colleague records, eligibility, and enrollments. Support 401(k) administration in partnership with payroll and complete required non-discrimination testing. Prepare annual compliance filings, including Forms 1095-C and 1094-C. Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Research, propose, and implement new benefit offerings to meet the needs of a multi-state workforce. Coordinate companywide health fairs and benefit-related presentations. Communication & Engagement Create and distribute clear, engaging benefit communications via email, flyers, SharePoint, and ADP WFN. Design graphics and content for digital and print communications. Draft policies, proposals, and knowledge base content to support colleague understanding of benefits. Lead presentations and training sessions for groups of 300+ employees. HR Generalist Support Collaborate with HR team on projects, reporting, and compliance initiatives. Research labor laws and support the development of HR best practices and SOPs. Assist with colleague engagement programs and cross-functional committees. Perform other HR-related duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong problem-solving ability, confidentiality, adaptability, and organizational skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Advanced computer skills, including HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite. Proven ability to maintain detailed records with a high degree of accuracy. Emotional stability, adaptability, integrity, and cultural sensitivity. Comfort working under pressure with high workloads or urgent deadlines. Education & Experience BA/BS in Human Resources, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Minimum six years of administrative experience, including at least two years in benefits administration or HR generalist roles. HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR) strongly preferred. Previous experience with self-funded benefit plans strongly preferred. Proficiency in web-based benefits communication/enrollment platforms. Strong presentation and public speaking skills. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Occasional extended hours and weekend work may be required. Travel: 10–15 days annually.
