Medical Receptionist Overview

As Wayspring's Medical Receptionist, you will be at the forefront of a groundbreaking model that blends holistic care with substance use disorder treatment for underserved populations. In role, you'll welcome patients by phone or in person to our Delaware clinic and set the tone for a welcoming, supportive environment. You'll help keep the clinic moving by scheduling and confirming patient appointments and ensuring adequate office and medical supplies are always on hand. Responsibilities of the Medical Receptionist

  • Welcomes patients and visitors to the Wayspring Clinic
  • Promotes and expects a welcoming atmosphere for patients, team members, and visitors
  • Manages a high volume of incoming and outbound calls; handles patient concerns with compassion, and route to appropriate personnel as needed
  • Manages the clinical inbox and responds to patients accordingly
  • Serves as a care navigator, providing exceptional service to all patients and internal team members
  • Navigates through multiple Wayspring systems and documents all patient interactions
  • Schedules and confirms appointments, managing the clinic's calendars effectively
  • Coordinates all processes, including medical records process, for continuation of care
  • Protects and maintains patients' information with confidentiality and professionalism, in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Communicates with internal teams for continuation of care
  • Effectively utilizes electronic health records system, Athena, and care management platform, Pathways
  • Manages inventory of office and medical supplies
  • Provides general administrative support as needed
  • Additional duties may be assigned
  • Adheres to Wayspring information security and privacy requirements
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years' experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Excellent verbal, telephonic and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with electronic patient scheduling and electronic health records helpful
