Administrative Secretary
Collin County is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the position of Administrative Secretary. This position provides administrative support by conducting research, maintaining files, making travel arrangements, composing and preparing correspondence, opening and distributing mail, preparing and maintaining reports, ordering and storing supplies, and maintaining work schedules and appointment calendars. Other responsibilities include assisting with the budget by preparing deposits, balancing ledger sheets, maintaining various accounts, preparing receipts and reports and compiling data. This position also provides customer service by answering and directing telephone calls and providing assistance to personnel as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Candidates must possess the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software applications. Requirements include at least six months of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency, at least two years of related clerical experience, and the ability to pass a typing test at the rate of at least 50 words a minute. Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Testing Requirements This position requires that you pass a typing test at the minimum rate specified above. If you have taken a typing test with us within the last 6 months that meets or exceeds the requirements above, you do not need to take it again. If you have never taken our typing test, have not met the requirements above, or it has been more than 6 months since your last test, you will need to take the test in order for your application to be complete. Typing tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing room from 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
