Tech I
Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Tech I. This position performs clerical work of routine difficulty. Provides clerical support by answering the phones, assisting customers at the front desk, scheduling appointments, preparing reports and correspondence, maintaining files and records, entering data in the computer system and various databases and processing paperwork. Performs other related duties as required. This position is grant-funded and is currently funded through 8/31/2026. The position is contingent upon the availability of grant funds and will be eliminated when funding is exhausted or no longer available. Continued employment is also contingent upon ongoing grant funding and will end if funding is discontinued or exhausted. Candidates must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, and office processes. Must have at least one year of relevant experience and must possess sufficient skill to pass a typing test at the rate of 35 words per minute. Must have level of education equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Testing Requirements This position requires that you pass a typing test at the minimum rate specified above. If you have taken a typing test with us within the last 6 months that meets or exceeds the requirements above, you do not need to take it again. If you have never taken our typing test, have not met the requirements above, or it has been more than 6 months since your last test, you will need to take the test in order for your application to be complete. Typing tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing room from 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
