Faculty Position Summary::

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking Adjunct Therapeutic Massage instructors. The Therapeutic Massage instructor is responsible for conducting assigned day and/or evening classes of instruction. The Therapeutic Massage instructor participates in maintaining the curriculum in a comprehensive, current, and employer responsive manner.

The responsibilities of the Therapeutic Massage instructor include: conducting assigned classes of instruction; maintaining program equipment, safety, and security; making recommendations concerning curriculum development and course offerings; assisting with the orientation and training of new faculty members; developing and maintaining an effective network with business and industry representatives in the service area; assisting in the recruitment of new students for the program and the advisement and placement of students. The instructor also will be responsible for other duties as assigned.

Adjunct instructors are hired on an as-needed basis by semester, and report directly to the department Program Chair. Required Education/Experience::

Current North Carolina License in Massage and Body Work Therapy (LMBT). 2+ years of teaching Therapeutic Massage

AND

2+ years of experience in Therapeutic Massage OR Certificate, Diploma or Degree from an an accredited college or university

AND

5+ years of experience in Therapeutic Massage. Training in teaching methods including presentation skills, lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional strategies for adult learners.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills::

Associate degree from regionally accredited post-secondary institution. Experience with curriculum development and assessment of student learning outcomes. Experience with instructional technology. Familiarity with North Carolina Massage Board rules and compliance procedures.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities::

Experience with technology in the classroom, including e-books. School management applications for keeping grades, performances and time clock management for students.
