Position: Lead Electrical Engineer We are seeking an accomplished Lead Electrical Engineer to join our elite team. This individual will be responsible for leading the engineering design and analysis of utility-scale electrical distribution and substation systems, ensuring that projects meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance. Responsibilities
Serve as the Lead Electrical Engineer on multiple high-profile distribution and substation projects. Lead and sign/stamp design deliverables at 100% submittal in accordance with California PE requirements. Perform and oversee advanced studies, including short-circuit, arc-flash, load flow, and protective coordination across 480V, 4kV, 12kV, and 115kV systems. Direct multidisciplinary teams in developing electrical drawings, technical specifications, and construction packages. Ensure all designs meet the latest codes and global standards (IEEE, ANSI, NETA, NEC, CPUC GO-95/GO-128, utility interconnection standards, etc.). Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and peer reviews to maintain world-class engineering quality. Collaborate with international teams and stakeholders, ensuring flawless integration of designs across geographies. Support field engineering, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities as required. Represent PowerTek as a recognized authority in electrical engineering during client engagements. Qualifications
Minimum 15 years
of experience as an Electrical Engineer in distribution and/or substation projects. Proven expertise working across
480V, 4kV, 12kV, and 115kV
systems. Successful track record as Lead Engineer on at least
5 major utility or substation projects . Active
California Professional Engineer (PE – Electrical)
license (must provide license number). Strong command of electrical codes, standards, and utility practices. Exceptional communication, leadership, and client-facing skills. What We Offer
