Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Designer to join our Donna Karan/BCBG team. This role will support the creation and design of a competitive product line that strikes a balance between relevant commercial product and brand-right emotional fashion, ultimately contributing to the brand’s strategic and financial objectives. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and eager to learn, with strong design and communication skills and a passion for fashion.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in sketching seasonal collections. Complete all aspects of design packages including sketching, tech packs, and line sheets. Prepare and maintain tech packs from initial development through production. Organize and maintain design development including artwork, trims, fabric worksheets, and line lists. Manage and update line sheets regularly. Track samples and shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Assist in showroom sample preparation. Communicate effectively with overseas factories. Manage seasonal yarn orders. Support upkeep of design boards and office organization. Adhere to and manage timelines according to the Time and Action Calendar. Minimum of 1 year of professional design experience, preferably in sweaters. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. The pay range for this position is:
$28.00 - $29.00 per hour.
