Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly creative Designer, Cut & Sew to join our design team. This role will focus on creating innovative, fashion-forward collections that align with the brand’s identity while staying relevant in the marketplace. The Designer will be responsible for trend research, concept development, and overseeing garments from initial design through production. The ideal candidate has a strong background in high-end sweater design, with expertise in stitches, yarns, and silhouettes, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities: Research current trends and forecast seasonal evolution within the brand identity. Apply research findings (blogs, magazines, retail, street-style, vintage exploration) to create cohesive, well-balanced collections that are merchandised effectively. Communicate seasonal design concepts and intent to factories; request preliminary treatments and mock-ups. Generate detailed tech packs with clear silhouette, garment construction, and trim information for overseas factories. Review prototypes, conduct fittings, and communicate adjustments through photographs, spec notes, and diagrams. Evaluate collection performance and adjust by sketching or re-fabricating to support seasonal objectives within line plans and SKU counts. Translate amplified design concepts to runway presentations in collaboration with the stylist. Partner with the Merchandising Team and SVP of Design during seasonal introductions. Collaborate with Production Managers to ensure garments transition smoothly from development to production, with correct details and color allocations. Support Merchandising Team with requests and collection updates as needed.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field. 6–8 years of experience in apparel design, with a strong emphasis on high-end cut & sew sweaters. Extensive knowledge of sweater design, including stitches, yarns, and silhouettes. Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated experience in creating and managing tech packs. Excellent organizational and communication skills.

The pay range for this position is:
